Martin Coleman was a member of the University of Cambridge Impaired Consciousness Research Group. He has trained in psychology, neurophysiology and brain imaging and undertook his PhD on this topic. Although he has published numerous papers on this subject his main focus was on setting up a clinical service for persons with impaired consciousness and their families. He had worked in this field for over 10 years. Athough Martin was not a medic you can read about some of the work he has undertaken on the University of Cambridge, Impaired Consciousness Research Groups website, which details the tests they have developed.
"The brain injury community has suffered a tragic loss with the accidental death of Martin on December 17th 2011. We, as a group, will miss him tremendously both for his support and his personal
input to all our loved ones. Our condolences go out to his family and friends.
We hope that the terrific work he has been involved with over many years will be continued."
